City Council Meeting
Many of you have read the article in the Peninsula Daily News about Sequim LIttle League at the Sequim City Council Meeting. The whole purpose of SLL talking at this meeting is to figure out how to get power and more importantly water for the new girl's softball field that is currently in construction.
Because Sequim Little League owns the piece of land where the new field is located, we don't have permission (or a contract) to hook up power and water from the rest of the park to the new field. We are currently in negotiations with the City of Sequim to resolve this matter. The City of Sequim is currently looking into this matter and will come up with options for us as soon as the city drafts their 2010 budget. Stay tuned for updates as we get them.
Update 1/23/10: Sequim Little League President, Shawnna Rigg will be presenting our case to the City Council at their February Meeting.
Update 4/10/10: Thanks to Shawnna Rigg, Fred Millar and many others who showed up at the Sequim City Council Meeting, we now have water!!! For the remainder of the year, Sequim Little League will have access to water to water our new girl's softball field. After the year is up, there will be negotiations to work out a new contract with the City of Sequim.
